Coach Sheldon Keefe toned down his offense a bit, putting scoring talent above the back line, but that can be adjusted in the middle of the game, and Tampa still struggles to even up. The Leafs had a great offense tonight, but their own issues really made this game safer.

Toronto has to be the better team tonight due to Tampa's blue line injuries, but their trouble slowing down Tampa's offense will create a two-way score. Throw in the added opportunity to make a strong play, and this could be an unconventional, high-scoring playoff game.

Chargers vs Maple Leafs Game 2 Money Line Review
The Maple Leafs closed Game 1 with -150 home favorites and lost easily 7-3, but this morning they fell to -170 home favorites. Toronto opened at -155, so the market is heading in that direction, likely buoyed by the injuries the Chargers are facing.
Defender Erik Cernak is out. He played 20 minutes per game and was a great penalty taker. Former Norris winner Victor Hedman was questioned after withdrawing from Tuesday's match. Jon Cooper told reporters that Heidemann will make a decision at game time, but many speculate that he will play for the Chargers in the series. Also, Erik Cole missed training, maybe not 100%.
It's a bad look for an already weak blue lineup likely to use Zach Bogosian and Hayden Fleury. Mikhail Sergachev could play 28 minutes tonight.
Toronto will be without the services of Michael Bunting for three games, but the trade is decent as highly regarded prospect Matthew Nice will attract.
I don't like the lineup Sheldon Keefe has in practice: Knies on the third row, Ryan O'Reilly, Jarnkrok Street on the front row, Alex Kerfoot on the second row. This saps offensive talent, but it's a fluid situation where coaches can switch gears as games progress.
Toronto has been a great team after regular season losses, and they're 14-3 in SU after their last 17 losses going back to January 1, yet only four of their wins have come from teams from playoffs. They benefited greatly from losses against weaker teams, with all three losses coming against playoff teams. I haven't seen much from that angle.
Toronto deserves to win this game, so the market is moving in that direction, but it's also a team that has shown zero resilience and the ability to play hockey well in big situations. I prefer goals to the Leafs, and I think playing +160 with the Bolts is only +160.

There's a lot to like about tonight's high score game. Tampa is weak defensively and on penalties, and those two games are elite. We should also look at physical play which could lead to more power play opportunities that have been coming early in the playoffs.
Samsonov may have been elite at home during the regular season, but he started eight times in the playoffs and allowed at least three goals in seven of those games, all lost. In his last four postseason appearances dating back to last season, he has scored 18 goals at 0.861 SV%. His defense didn't get any help in the last game either, as Justin Hall and Morgan Riley continued to be problems in their own game.
The 6 has started to see some money in the Over and while I doubt it will reach 6.5, it could close at -135 for the Over. Tampa is a 2.5 overall and -150 overall, suggesting even the books think the underdog is going to score tonight.
