Everton's Anthony Gordon is nearing a move to Newcastle United for a fee expected to be around £45million.
The Blues have valued the England Under-21 international at £60m and while the Magpies were unwilling to go beyond £40m, a commitment to a structured incentive deal is nearing completion, with the player's trip to the North East on that one Weekend.
Everton's search for Frank Lampard's successor, with the appointment of Sean Dyche to be confirmed within 24 hours, should also allow Gordon's exit to move forward as the new Blues manager can identify potential targets to target in the transfer window. closes on tuesday.
Although Everton had planned to bring in two attacking players in January, no new faces have emerged so far and with Arnaud Danjuma focusing on loans ahead of Tottenham Hotspur signing the deal, selling Gordon would increase his buying power while selling Gordon's purchasing power would increase the demand for a possible replacement for it.

Graeme Souness: Everton is a failed football club
talk about youdaily mail column,Souness made a brutal assessment of Everton Football Club:
It's the sheer volume of coverage of Everton, a desperate and bankrupt football club, that struck me this week. If this had been just another team from the bottom half of the Premier League in the mud there would have been some discussion and debate.
But nothing on the scale we've seen. A dubious compliment perhaps, but the sheer number of reviews and hours of conversation are a reminder that Everton are one of the great clubs in British football.
What is happening at Goodison Park is a national football disaster.
You'll be surprised to hear me say this, since I've spent six of the best years of my life across Stanley Park. But Everton have always been a club that resonated with me.

Dyche has already pointed to a major problem he would need to solve at Everton

Dyche reaction
What are blues fans saying today to the news that Dyche will soon take over?
Here's a recap of some opinions from social media...
@EvertonArentNosotros:By the way, Dyche has wanted the Everton job for years. Actually, it sucks that he takes it while we're in shit, but that's probably the only way he got it. good luck to him
@Hanstours: Solomantennos Dyche x
@THT1878:Although Dyche is just as good as Pep, he needs fast new players ASAP!
@FalconBlues1878:Made with Dyche. Forget a bigger plan. Forget football style. forget ambition. Forget fitness equipment that follows the same philosophy. In this present moment, all that matters is staying awake. He's a better manager than Lampard, quite simply. Take care of the rest next year.
@EBL2017:Sean Dyche will make Everton one of the most unimaginably difficult teams in the Premier League. His punchy style matches Goodison's energy perfectly. It will convert fresh toxicity into energy that the team can use as fuel.
@TheRobVera:As I said before, I can live with Dyche because our options are limited and the situation is what it is. But it's amazing how often slow, boring and ultimately losing football is considered 'safe'. Everton just hope he's mediocre enough to stay on top.

Sean Dyche is set to become a manager
So today could be the day... and Sean Dyche is ready to be the man.
Dyche has emerged as the clear favorite to become Everton's next manager and could be appointed today.
The former Burnley manager was among the favorites along with Marcelo Bielsa, who flew to Britain on Thursday for talks with club bosses. Bielsa was thought to be majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri's first choice but the focus of the signing process was for Moshiri, Everton board and director of football Kevin Thelwell to make a team decision.

Marcelo Bielsa "wanted to work with the Sub 21 until the summer"
In accordance withthe times, Marcelo Bielsa wanted to work with Everton U21s until the end of the season to become first-choice coach in July.
Bielsa flew to London from Brazil on Thursday for talks with club management, but after such requests were made, the Blues appear determined to name former Burnley boss Sean Dyche to succeed Frank Lampard.
The report said: "After lengthy discussions, Bielsa's proposal to Everton proved impractical. The 67-year-old Argentine stressed it took him seven weeks to ensure the team adapted to his methods, which meant taking over the first team from the start was difficult.
"Instead, Bielsa wanted to take eight members of the back squad and work with the U21s and academy from now until the end of the season. He would then take over and become a manager."

Marcelo Bielsa rejects the blues
Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly turned down the chance to succeed Frank Lampard at Everton.
The former Leeds United boss is said to be looking to take charge in July, with Everton currently sitting 19th in the table and facing relegation from the Premier League for the first time in their history.
In accordance withCorrespondenceEverton were already concerned Bielsa would turn down the job, fearing the team would not slow down in the relegation battle as the team slipped to 19th in their tumultuous season under Lampard.
"And now the Argentine must tell Everton's board, led by majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chief executive Bill Kenwright, that he doesn't want the job at the moment and would rather take the helm in July.
"A summer takeover would allow him to have a proper pre-season with the players and start over instead of putting himself in a difficult situation and risking relegation."

Antonio is ready to leave West Ham this month
Following rumors surrounding Mikhail Antonio's future at West Ham United, the striker has admitted he left the London stadium this month.
Antonio has been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton in recent weeks, with the Blues still in the market for attacking reinforcements after losing Arnaut Danjuma to Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking on the Soccer Players Soccer podcast, he said: "Honestly, I haven't ruled anything out. That's all I can say.
“There are talks, so whatever happens happens.
"I've been here for eight and a half years, I became the club's top scorer [in the Premier League] and I've loved every moment.
"Every moment is important to me. I love the fans, I loved my time at West Ham. It's just one of those things. I'm not saying goodbye, I'm basically saying if it happens, it happens and if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen."
He added: "I won't be mad if I stay and I'll definitely be mad if I leave because I've obviously enjoyed my time here, but football is football.
"Change players, stay players and be with a club for eight and a half years, I would never have thought about that because before joining West Ham the longest I've spent at a club was two years.
“I still have a year and a half here. I can't say I'm leaving because I've still been at the club for a year and a half."
Would you take Antonio to Goodison Park?
